This policy explains how westwingoutlet, operating the westwingoutlet online store, processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

What we process and why

  • Order data — name, delivery and billing address, e-mail address, ordered items. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Invoicing and accounting data — retained for the statutory retention periods under German commercial and tax law. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Customer service correspondence — to answer enquiries and handle complaints; stored for up to 3 years. Legal basis: contract performance or legitimate interest.
  • Newsletter — e-mail address only, sent exclusively with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link.

Recipients

Data is passed only to processors required to operate the store: the Shopify e-commerce platform, payment service providers and the carriers delivering your order. Where a processor operates outside the EEA, the transfer is safeguarded by EU standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Order and accounting data for the statutory retention periods; correspondence for up to 3 years; consent-based data until consent is withdrawn.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time.
